Smell and Taste: The Joy of Eating

A chapter of good book about human nutrition titled “smell and taste” said that gustation is the term for the sense of taste and olfaction for the sense of smell. Together, they make for the sensation of flavour. In this world, there are numerous tastes and smells that add to the joy of eating. Taste qualities are divided into four or five sensations: salt, sour, sweet, bitter, and umami. The latter, umami, is described as an amino acid type of taste, e.g. sodium glutamate. Good nutrition must give a good smell and taste. Good nutrition must include an enjoyment of food. With enjoyment of eating, we will feel comportable. The eating will be a funny activity for everyone, especially for kids.
